How we calculate the AI Score
No black box: here’s exactly what Saykora measures, and its limits.
1. The questions
Saykora reads your site’s home page, works out your business and your country (for example from a .co.uk domain), then writes the questions a customer would ask an AI. Your name never appears in the question: we measure whether AI thinks of you on its own. You can also set your own questions.
2. The answers
Each question is asked to every connected AI. An answer only counts if the AI actually replied; if too many answers are missing, we ask the question again once. Questions that fail twice are excluded from all calculations.
Free test: 8 questions × 3 AIs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) = 24 answers. Each question is asked with web search on, as in the AI apps.
3. The numbers
Cited as source = answers where a link or the text points to your site ÷ answers received × 100
Competitor share = answers that mention them ÷ answers received × 100
Example: cited in 6 answers out of 24, your presence is 25%. As several competitors can appear in the same answer, their shares don’t add up to 100%.
4. The AI Score, out of 100
- Up to 60 points: your place in the answers. 0.4 × presence + 0.2 × source citation.
- Up to 40 points: your site’s technical readiness (what helps AI read it). Site accessible (10), structured data, i.e. a machine-readable ID card for your business (12), main page heading (6), meta description, the summary shown under your link (6), page title of a sensible length (6).
In short: a well-prepared site gets a head start, but only presence in answers takes you above 40. The report shows both parts separately.
5. The limits, honestly
- AI answers vary from one day to the next: a single test is a snapshot, weekly tracking shows the trend.
- Detecting your name is a text search: a very short name can occasionally be confused with a common word.
- Competitors are detected automatically; compound names can occasionally be split incorrectly.
